Humaniversity is committed to protecting your privacy. We only collect information about our customers for the purpose of answering inquiries, processing reservations and for sending email newsletters and announcements to those who have subscribed. We do not give any of your information to third parties, except when processing your payment, as described below.
When you visit our site
When you visit the Humaniversity website, you are anonymous. We do not collect any personal information without your prior knowledge or consent.
When you contact us or place an order
When you contact us via the contact forms on our website, we ask you for your name, email address and message. Optionally, you can also give us your phone number. If you order brochures from us, we also ask for your postal address. Our purpose for collecting this information is to answer your questions about our products and services.
When you place an order for a course or product, we require you to create an account and enter your name, postal address, telephone number and email. Our purpose for collecting this information is to process your order. Our legal basis for processing your information is to fulfill a contract with you to provide you with products or services.
When you subscribe to our email lists
Only with your consent are you added to our electronic mailing list. This consent is given by signing up on our newsletter subscription page, ticking a box on our contact, registration or application forms or asking to be subscribed by some other means.
We never share our email lists with any outside source unless it is a joint event with Humaniversity. We respect your privacy and want to make it as convenient as possible to unsubscribe from our lists. You can do so via our newsletter unsubscription page.
How do we handle your information?
The information you give to us via contact forms, account registration, newsletter subscription or emails is entered into the Humaniversity database so that we can process your request or order. Your data is only processed by, and accessible to, Humaniversity staff who have been trained in confidentiality and signed confidentiality agreements, and only for the purpose of fulfilling your request or order.
When you create an account on our website, your information is also stored on our website servers so that it is available for your next visit.
When you place an order on the website, your payment details including credit card information is sent to our payment provider Mollie. Mollie keeps your data encrypted and is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certified, which means they meet the standards of security and penetration testing required by the credit card industry.
How long do we keep your information?
Your information is saved for a period of 7 years since your last activity. After that point, if you have never attended one of our programs, your account and all of your data will be deleted on both our website and our internal Humaniversity database. If you have attended one of our programs, your website account will be completely erased after 7 years of inactivity, but your basic contact information and attendance will be saved for perpetuity as part of our academic records in our internal database.
Being currently subscribed to our newsletter counts as activity, so if you are subscribed, your information will not be deleted.
If you have made a payment via our website, your transaction records are kept by Mollie for a period of 7 years, as required by the Dutch tax authority.
